INI Ememobong Foundation has called on indigenes of Akwa Ibom State to intensify prayers for Governor Udom Emmanuel, especially as his administration begins countdown to May 29, 2023.

The founder of the Foundation and Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ini Ememobong, made the call, on Saturday, during the dedication service to officially handover a new worship building constructed by the foundation to Church of Christ, Awa-Iman in Onna Council.

This is contained in a statement forwarded to The Guardian by the Public Relations Director of the state Ministry of Information, Grace Akpan.

The statement quoted Ememobong as saying that the building was constructed to provide a befitting place, where Christians would not only gather to worship God, but also offer supplications and thanksgiving to God on behalf of Emmanuel even long after his administration.

While thanking God for His benevolence upon the life of the governor, and many other Christian faithful, who have made sacrifices by upholding Emmanuel in prayers, Ememobong said that as a ‘son’, who has benefitted from the fatherly disposition of the governor, there was no better imprint to honour his ‘father’ with than donating the temple in his hometown, Awa Iman, and more importantly inaugurating the building few days  to the governor’s 2022 birthday anniversary.

In his remarks, the Chancellor of the foundation, Ulap Bassey Esan, said the new building include a minister’s office, a vestry, new chairs and a brand new 5kva generator.

He described the new hall as an awesome place for worshippers, adding that the charity foundation would continue to identify and execute humanitarian projects for the benefit of the society.

The project architect and designer, Iniobong Abidiak, said the project was designed to meet contemporary standard in construction and in interior fittings.

Meanwhile, the Minister in-charge of the congregation, Ayan Umana, has expressed appreciation to Ememobong for his supports towards the church and the society, especially, the needy.

People from all walks of life: including the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Akparawa James Edet; Chairman of Eket Council, Akaninyene Tommey; Chairman of state NUJ, and management staff of the Ministry of Information and Strategy, among others.
